The Employee of the Quarter program is designed to promote and reward outstanding performance by staff at the University. The Staff Council Executive Board seeks to recognize employees who exemplify excellence through their daily commitment to the University. It is the hard work and dedication of these staff members that makes our success possible.

The recipient of the UCCS Employee of the Quarter award will receive a $100 cash award (taxes withheld) stipend paid into their paycheck, designated parking spot & free parking for three months, a certificate of recognition, $40 worth of UCCS Campus Store goods, one day of administrative leave, and recognition in the Communique.

To be eligible for this award, the nominee must be 1) a permanent – classified or unclassified – staff member of UCCS and 2) employed as such for a minimum of one year.

As an additional recognition of merit, all qualified Employee of the Quarter winners will be entered into the nomination pool for the Garrett Swasey Outstanding Staff Award. To be eligible for the Garrett Swasey Outstanding Staff Award in addition to the Employee of the Quarter award, the nominee must have been employed for a minimum of three years.

Winners are ineligible for an additional Employee of the Quarter award for a period of three years. Recipients of other UCCS staff awards are eligible, as this nomination and selection process is separate from other awards.
